De-Carb-olized Spaghetti
School food is just not what it used to be. When I was in elementary school, I used to love the big fluffy rolls. I remember taking an extra nickle to school so I could buy an extra roll. What a no-no today. The kids are absolutely not allowed seconds. Then again, why would they want them? Nick describes the food as quite disappointing. Everything has to be fat-free to limit the calories and fat the kids eat while at school. There are no candy machines or unhealthy foods. When I was in high school, I lived on a Snicker Bar and a Diet Pepsi every day for lunch. Poor, skinny Nick will never have that luxury. He came home from school Monday and told me they had de-carb-olized spaghetti for lunch. We figure that is like eating red air. YUCK.

That's funny! But, so sad. I can't believe they can't buy extra school rolls! Rolls and Frito Bake were my fav's. Plus! What are they thinking! Olympic Gold Medalist, M. Phelps, eats around 12,000 calories a day. And since Nicholas is training for the Olympic Swim Team, he REALLY needs more calories. Certainly no "De-Carb-olized Spaghetti"! Ok. So he's not exactly "training" for the Olympic Team yet, but he really should be thinking about it! He's got skills!
French fries and a chocolate shake (that was so frozen I had to eat it with a spoon) is what I lived on in HS. Poor Nick!
I ate a hotdog, fries and a milkshake every day in junior high....and if I saved up extra I even had a donut:) Guess times have changed.
I had a chicken sandwich and one cream filled donut everyday in HS. The donuts came in packs of 2 and cost $1 and I would always split it with someone and spend 50 cents. Funny, we all remember what our HS staple was. What will the kids these days look back and remember..."de-carb-olized spaghetti?"
